Path to our Vietnamese Sweeties

Follow us as we find the path to our children who are half way around the world. The road is unknown and undoubtedly full of curves, but God holds the map. He is who we will follow. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

One Cookie

ONE Cookie (Oh, my!!!)

Wyatt, my 5 year old, has asked for another sibling ever since Ellayna arrived home. More specifically, he'd like a brother. He is thrilled that we are in the process for both a brother and a sister. Every once in awhile, someone asks him what he thinks about getting two more. He gave my brother the same response that he gave me last week, and I've heard it at least one other time.

Wyatt's reply-"Well, what if there is only one cookie? What do we do?"

Of course, this obviously is a very important question to a 5 yr old. Currently, he'd only have to break it in half to share with his 2 yr old sister. For those of you, who don't know Wyatt, he is a tender hearted little fellow who normally shares with his little sister without being told. In fact, he doesn't want her to miss out on anything fun. If something great is happening during sister's nap, he wants to wake her up!

Back to the cookie question: "What if there is only one cookie?"
My brother is a teaser, a jokester, a fun loving guy. Uncle Kevin tells Wyatt, "You'll be bigger than the other 3; just grab it and eat the whole thing yourself." Wyatt's blue eyes get big and looks at Kevin unbelieving. This was clearly not an idea he had thought of.

Mom, (me) acting shocked, reinforces sibling love: "You could break it into four pieces." I'm waiting for the answer: yah, mom. That's a good idea.

Wyatt: "Mom, the pieces will be too small."

So, I guess the moral of the story is I need to make sure there is never just ONE cookie left in the house. Mmmmm, I think I can promise that!

How cute is that. He'll be making sure there is 4 of everything he likes to go around. How cute.
