Asian New Year Party

GETTING GOODIES

Friends of ours who just adopted their son from China at Thanksgiving time. He just turned 3. He loved hugging on Eastin. So cute.
Here are some pictures from our Asian New Year Party hosted by our local adoption group. There were around 30 kids present. This is the first time that Ellayna has taken a real interest in wearing her Hanbok. She was so excited. She is the only Korean in our group, so everyone was really interested in seeing her traditional dress. She was proud.
The party was hosted at an Asian restaurant. The kids had crafts to do, dragon hats and Year of the Rat stuff. All the parents brought treats or candy and the kids walked a parade picking up the goodies. At the end all kids received a red envelope with money inside. The restaurant even gave all the kids a present. It was a stone charm with Chinese writing on it. They were actually very pretty.
My parents came along to help with the kids which was a huge help. As we left, each family received a CD of song about the New Year.
